Hello fellow gamers and welcome to our blog! We're a married couple that play video games together. I play also to the surprise of many people that we meet while playing Call of Duty on Xbox Live. People that I meet in real life seem to be surprised by the fact that I like to play video games too. Apparently it's odd for a girl to like video games, especially games like Call of Duty. But I'm sure those same people would be just as surprised to learn that playing video games together actually improves me and my husband's relationship.
First, a little info on my gaming bakground. My mom was a gamer. She played Atari as a teenager. So, when I was but five, we had a Nintendo. I think we got it before then, but that's as far back as my memory goes. We had Super Mario Bros. with Duck Hunt, of course, some karate fighting game that I loved, and other games. Then we got a Sega Genesis with Tale Spin. There was a dry spell during which we didn't have enough money for a whole new system, but I had a Sega GameGear and then Gameboy Colors after my sister broke that. A Playstation, then a Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and now Xbox 360. The only generation I skipped was the N64/Sega Saturn stage, but I don't think I really missed anything. I had a DS also. Pretty good track record. Now I'm not saying I'm an especially good gamer. Great thing about it is you don't have to be.
So we play together, but that doesn't mean we play everything together. There's a lot of games I just don't play. My husband likes sports games, I don't. I like medieval fantasy RPGs, he prefers sci-fi epics. We both enjoy FPSs like Call of Duty and play together regularly. We've noticed that it keeps us close. And after watching an episode of The Marriage Ref we realized that we don't argue anywhere near as much as other couples. So the Co-op Husband had the bright idea to start a blog. So you can look forward to advice, gaming reviews and just general chatter from the both of us. Comments are welcome and encouraged.. lol
